They say experience is the best teacher, and as Owner/CEO at Harmony Group Marketing, here are some of the things I’ve learned:
Only work with people when I can make a positive difference in their lives and their businesses.
Respect that others may have learned different lessons, and use collaboration as a growth opportunity.
Offer to put something forward before sending a bill can be the most productive way to get started.
Understand what competitors are doing, then offer a creatively and strategically fresh approach.
Those lessons have served me well, and if you ask the people I’ve produced websites, marketing and branding for, I expect they will say they benefitted too, in ways they hadn’t expected.
In my personal life, I’ve also learned a lot about what’s important to me, for a life well-lived.
My husband Kris VanHemert, a talented fellow who specializes in IT services.
The rescued pets we cherish at home, and my work with two local animal advocacy groups.
The outdoors, including digging our garden, long nature hikes, and the occasional road race.
Lifelong learning, whether it’s the second BA I’m working on, or a complex new plant-based recipe.
Now, supported by a team of 7 sharp and creative humans at work – and a growing number of adorable animals at home – I’m looking forward to meeting new people, taking on new challenges, interesting projects, and rewarding client relationships.
